About the Maker

Liz Deane
-My love of handcrafted and unique jewelry began with the admiration of my Grandma Mae's turquoise ring. Mae was stylish, classy and a little bit edgy and that's how I would describe the jewelry I make today. Each handcrafted piece I make is thoughtfully created with you in mind; helping you capture and celebrate your special life moments. I use a variety of materials but mostly sterling silver, and my very own hand cut stones-a majority of which I have collected on my many road trips. I am a 2017 graduate of B Golden Jewelry School's Business Accelerator Program and have taken many classes and workshops from some of the best jewelers from around the country. I have worked with several local jewelry stores as a jewelry production assistant, and have been an instructor at B Golden Jewelry School in Salt Lake City, UT & Austin, TX.

I live in Holladay, Utah with my husband Matthew.

My Creative Process:

I acquire most of my precious metals from Rio Grande. An American company with an excellent reputation for being environmentally friendly which is important to me as an artist. I source many of my stones straight from Mother Earth herself or purchase them from reputable stone sellers.

I rarely sketch my designs. My ideas for jewelry are all swimming around in my head until I sit down at my home studio bench and spill it out. When I'm not making, I'm teaching private classes in my home studio. I absolutely love teaching others how to create jewelry. It's so satisfying to see that wide-eyed, slightly overwhelmed student walk through the studio door and leave just giddy with delight at what they've made (with a little guidance) using their own hands.
